Every year wives and children spend well earned money on gifts for Dad on Father’s Day. Some buy something without giving it much thought, after all it’s the thought that counts right? Others read articles on what Dad would like. Usually written buy someone who was tasked with the assignment from their boss at a magazine or website. I recently saw one of these articles on a women’s topic magazine website and honestly wouldn’t want one thing in the article. But let’s be honest, all that is nice, but Dads don’t need more socks, ties, or a subscription to something they are only slightly interested in just to get less interested each month. This year get Dad something for Father’s Day he really wants, TACTICAL GEAR! From knives and flashlights to backpacks and pens, here are a few examples and suggestions.
Tactical Knives
Folders
First, we have a couple of nice tactical folders. Whether manual or spring assisted a good tactical knife must operate with ease and be durable enough to withstand all types of use. From opening something for his wife or children to camping, hunting, fishing, and especially as an EDC self-defense tool. These knives make one of the best father’s day gifts dads really want.

From HAUS tools comes the Kodiak. A quality EDC knife Designed to be a rugged tactical knife. I like the style of this knife as it has a dark tiger stripe, clip point blade made of 420 stainless steel. The durable G10 handle with finger grooves that provide a secure grip. One of my personal favorite knives is SOG specialty knives. This is the SOG Targa. The Targa is a solidly built knife with a straight edge, tanto blade made from VG-10 cutlery grade stainless steel for some of the best edge retention. The blade locks open or stays closed with SOG’s Arc-Lock mechanism. The thumb stud allows for easy one-handed opening of the 3.5 inch blade. Fixed Blade
A fixed blade, or non-folding blade, is also a good choice for Father’s Day. These are also great field knives that work well with camping, hunting, and fishing.

The Ka-Bar Hell Fire is a beast of a fixed blade knife which is to be expected from Ka-Bar. This particular Ka-Bar is a TDI/Hinderer which is a collaboration of two big names in the industry, the president of the Tactical Defense Institute John Brenner and custom knife maker Rick Hinderer. The 3.5 inch tanto style, 1095 Cro-Van steel blade has a recurve. The handle is full tang hard plastic. The sheath is hard plastic with a reversable metal clip and thumb release button. Tactical Backpacks
Tactical backpacks are durable packs designed to be used in all types of outdoor situations. They have plenty of pockets and space for carrying lots of gear and usually room to grow with add-on pouches and places to clip just about anything dad would need for a weekend in the woods or a day at the range.

Tactical Pens
